Do
you remember the Millhouse Blues Band?
The Redditch based blues band that was formed in 1989 are to
reform for a one off reunion gig at the Tardebigge on Saturday
July 24th to Celebrate 21 years of music and friendship.
The band is hoping to raise lots of money for Cancer Research
from the ticket sales.
Millhouse Blues, back in the day were always raising money for
one charity or another. Those of you old enough to remember them
will know that apart from raising money for the children’s
ward at the Alexandra Hospital, they also raised lots and lots
of money for Children In Need appeal and appeared on the BBC
1 show playing to the studio audience.
This led to further TV and Radio appearances where the band gained
lots of national exposure.
There were basically two versions of the band that involved
eight member’s altogether. Now, for one night only, you
get the chance to see both versions playing together. Since the
bands inactive period, some musicians have moved out of the area
and to other musical projects that include: The Unlikely, Woody
and the Stunt Cocks and the Official Receivers.
Spokesman Rick Lambe said “Lots of people have been asking
me and Len Moss, when is Millhouse Blues Band getting back together?
I always say that
“It would be great to do a show but I don’t know where they all
are”.
It has been a task to track everyone down! Some of the band members
are scattered around the world. Members are coming all the way
from Singapore, Andalusia, Cornwall, Herefordshire and Leicestershire
to play this gig. We are so looking forward to meeting up and
playing once more. Who knows, “we may decide to start up
the band again!”
The gig will be raising money for Cancer research and will be
in memory of recently deceased Margaret Bennett and Bill Essex
Tickets will be available from the Tardebigge Pub at £8
or £10 on the door and an 18 track limited edition CD
will be available with previously unreleased songs of the band.
